What do I do ?

Android Development

This is my current field of interest. I professionally develop Android applications from the ground up and rely heavily on graphic design to make an aesthetically appealing and beautiful UI/UX. I have experience in making various types of android applications right from native to web based and also VR applications for Google Cardboard.

Web Development

I believe in well organized CSS files, semantic HTML, and pixel perfection. In addition to client-side scripting, I also have experience in python to write server-side scripts and work with databases like Django and MongoDB.

The World

Besides all this I like to go to random walks, spend time with friends and talk to people. I like playing soccer, watching good movies and I am an obsessed reader. Check out my Flipboard to know more about what I read.

The Wall is a college notes application. It is built upon the Picasa web API to perform server side functions and the front end is a simple grid layout which helps the user to choose the relevant notes respective to his/her class.

Dance with Madhuri by RnM Moving Pictures is the world's first celebrity-backed, online, gamified dance academy. At RnM Moving Pictures I interned as an Android Engineer, Data Analyst, Researcher and Database Manager. I built video player prototypes, studied analytical data from Google Analytics and Flurry, did market research on competitive apps and worked with MongoDB.

iLabelit

iLabelit is a web application which was built in collaboration with MIT Media Labs during my internship at Srujana Center Of Innovation, Hyderabad. iLabelit consists of an annotation tool which helps in annotating retinal images. iLabelit was initially a desktop-first web application but along with the desktop-based web app, I also built a mobile based web app which would help in annotating retinal images on the smartphone.

StereoCam is a Virtual Reality android application that I developed in association with MIT Media Labs while interning at Srujana Innovation Center, Hyderabad. StereoCam offers stereoscopic camera views with a filter of fish-eye lens which helps the user to see distant objects closely. The primary objective of building this application was to test it on partially blind people. StereoCam was built as a part of a research project.

As the name says, Pupil Tracker is a hardware prototype developed to track the pupil of a human eye. I contributed to this project by building a Virtual Reality android application which is composed of a football image, moving in a specific pattern in stereoscopic views. This helps the user to keep attention on the moving image, while his pupil gets tracked in the background.

Skyrocket is an arcade shooter game developed in Unity3D for Windows OS and the Web. This game was developed just to mess around and get my hands on game development. The script is written C# and all the game assets and graphics were designed in Adobe Photoshop Elements 10.

The app uses Google Maps API to do the tracing and locating of the car, while on the front-end the app has a minimalist and easily understandable interface. The app is still in BETA and requires some UI refinements and tweaks.

Roll The Dice

Roll the Dice is my maiden android application. I developed this application to get started with android development and as an individual app developer. Before there was Android, there were Samsung phones running BADA OS which was written in C++. One of my friends phones had a dice application on his BADA OS Samsung phone. Rethinking on that, I decided to make a similar version of the dice application by adding more useful functionalities. Thus, I started writing the code in Java to develop my first android application. Within 6 months of launch, the app was downloaded more than 10,000 times and was trending on the Google Play Store.

The ReD-X Mumbai 2015 was a boot camp held at IIT-Bombay for 7 days in association with MIT Media Labs and Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research. During this boot camp, we hacked our way to shape the inception of iLabelIT and experimented with tech stacks to build a sustainable and scalable structure that would be carry forward for future developments. The boot camp concluded with open house presentations of teams and their projects in front of public and media and a panel that composed of Doctors, Researchers, Politicians, Scientists, and Entrepreneurs.

The ReD-X Hyderabad 2014 was a boot camp held at Cyient for 7 days in association with MIT Media Labs and L.V. Prasad Eye Hospital. During the hackathon teams were assigned to various tracks which involved solving real world health tech problem and engineering the eye with technologies like machine learning, computer vision, optics and imaging and mobile applications. I was a part of the team that built the iPerimeter app for implementing visual field tests by simulating a virtual Humphrey Perimeter test on the smartphone's screen.
